I haven’t had time to do much crafting just lately. I’m trying to rectify that this week but my mojo seems to have deserted me, probably due to neglect! As ever when my creativity is in the doldrums, I’ve looked to challenge blogs for my inspiration. This week, the sketch over at Sketch Saturday appealed to me so I used it as the starting point for this card:
I kept it simple, just an Inkylicious stamp coloured with Promarkers, and using narrow Cuttlebug folders for the embossing. Quick and CAS!
I needed a card for golfing mad relative of my brother-in-law and decided to play along with the sketch over at Sketch Saturday this week. The main image is by Crafts UK, stamped in Distress Pumice Stone and watercoloured. The backing paper started out square, which didn’t fit what I wanted to do so I cut a piece out of it. I masked off part of the card then stamped random golfing images (from the same Crafts UK set) in Memento Espresso Truffle, before drawing an edge in Cool Grey 5 Promarker.
The numbers were die-cut and mounted on a piece of card which I embossed to try to make it look like a golf ball.
I’m also entering this into the following challenges which all have a masculine theme this week:
Come & Get It Challenges – ends 18/6
Crafty Cardmakers – ends ~27/6
Suzy Bee’s Bloomin’ Challenge Blog – ends 19/6
The challenge over at Sketch Saturday this week is to choose any sketch from numbers 215-362. I chose number 225 which looks like this:
Apart from elongating it, I stuck pretty much to the sketch. The main image is a stamp by Inkylicious called Windswept, inked in Memento Olive Grove onto watercolour paper which had been pre-painted with a sky image in my Cotman watercolours. The paper had been in my stash for years, as had the brads, but they both matched perfectly. I then stamped the Clearly Besotted greeting in Olive Grove, too.
