This card started out as an experiment with Distress Inks, Perfect Pearl sprays & water droplets on Sheena’s Stamping Card. I based it on a “recipe” I found on the internet – this colour combination was recipe 2. I then stamped some of the MFT Inspired by Butterflies stamps in Versamark and embossed the images in white embossing powder.
Basing the layout on the current sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches, I found a piece of backing paper in my stash which matched really well, then stamped the greeting by Docrafts in Memento Rose Bud ink. A ribbon and a few sequins from my stash finished it off.
I made this card last week but almost forgot to enter it into this week’s challenge at Mojo Monday, so this is a really quick post as it’s getting late!
The papers are by Docrafts, the greeting is by Clearly Besotted. Not much else to say, really – here’s a different photo of it:
These are a few of the set of cards I made which were mostly sent to close family. As I was trying to avoid buying new crafty supplies, I decided to try the “one sheet wonder” method of making cards, and dug out some handmade paper from my stash. I randomly stamped a snowflake over the whole sheet so I could emboss it in Wow! silver embossing powder but then I discovered that Versamark didn’t work (the embossing was a dull metallic) so I had to use a Versacolor silver ink pad instead.
This first card was made using a shape I designed and cut out on my Sizzix Eclips with the rest of the greeting stamped. I’m entering this into the challenge over at CASology where the theme is “Merry”:
This was a similar one using my Eclips again:
And lastly, two using just words cut on my Eclips from silver mirri card with a stamped and embossed greeting:
Another card made by “shopping my stash”, which is forcing me to be more creative and I’m loving it! The background is the result of playing with Winsor & Newton watercolour paints on Crafters Companion watercolour card, inspired by this card created by Heather Telford. I painted a few fine lines with ArtQuest Micacolor paints, which I’ve had for years but hardly ever used.
The layout is based on this sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. I stamped the Indigo Blu butterfly in Versamark & embossed it with Wow! silver embossing powder, then cut the frame by hand from American Crafts cardstock. The greeting (by Paula Pascual) was stamped onto parchment paper in Versamark, then Memento Grape Jelly, so I could emboss it with Stampendous detail clear powder.I added a few sequins to hide the glue holding the parchment paper in place. I also added a little bit of glue behind the greeting.
Despite it being a very dull day, this card was VERY difficult to photograph! I’m also entering this into the following challenges:
