My mojo has utterly deserted me for the last week! It’s my brother-in-law’s birthday today so I had to come up with something and I was inspired by the sketch over at i {heart} card sketches, which I turned on its side. I found the cricketer decoupage in my stash so I matched the colours to him. The greeting, by Simon Says Stamp, is stamped in Memento Nautical Blue. Not the most exciting card but I hope he likes it!

Valentine Heart

Just in case you forgot, today was Valentine’s Day, and this was my card to my gorgeous hubby. The background is ordinary tissue paper glued onto the card. I diecut the heart and then diecut the “love” word from Clearly Besotted. The greeting, also by Clearly Besotted, was stamped onto black cardstock then embossed in white. A few red heart sequins finished it in CAS style.

I’m entering this into the challenges at:

Bon Anniversaire Chere Sylvie!

A lovely French friend celebrates her 60th birthday today. She doesn’t look her age and is always stylish, as so many French women are, and I hope that the card I’ve made reflects that. She also loves red so there was never any question about what colour I should incorporate! The stamp is “Giant Poppy” by IndigoBlu, and I spent a happy evening colouring the whole image in the only 2 Copic markers I own, which happen to be red.

Once I’d coloured it, I spent ages trying to decide what on earth to do with it, so I decided to be brave and cut the image as I felt it had more impact that way. As soon as I’d done that, the card came together very quickly. The die cut numbers are by Robert Addams, the birthday die cut is by Clearly Besotted and is liberally coated in Wink of Stella.  Clearly Besotted also produced the greeting stamp which I embossed in Wow! gold embossing powder. I thought of adding a little bling but decided to leave it alone. I’m entering this over at Stamping Sensations where the theme this month is “Anything Goes”.

Glittery Get Well

I loved these Altenew butterfly stamps, which I’ve inked in Versamark onto a panel of aqua cardstock and embossed in white detail embossing powder. Then I’ve coloured the butterflies in Promarkers in Cool Aqua and Duck Egg before painting over the top with Wink of Stella. I cut around the edges of the butterflies then layered the panel onto a strip of striped paper with an added strip of glitter cardstock.

A greeting embossed in white on vellum and a few sequins were all it took to finish it off. I’m entering this in the “Glitter” challenge over at CASology.

No, we’re not back to Christmas again! One of my Goddaughters passed her driving test at the first attempt the other day, so of course I had to send her a card:

The layout is based on sketch number 329 over at Sketch Saturday where I’m entering this into this week’s challenge. My Goddaughter lives near St Albans so I printed out part of the map of the area to use as the background, and cut the L freehand before mounting it and then zigzag cutting it.

The greeting, by Clearly Besotted, was inked in Memento Rhubarb Stalk and I added a couple of black gems to finish.
