Guitar Love

Front of card

This is an ultra-quick post, as we’ve had the builders in this week so the house is in need of some TLC! It was our son’s 17th birthday yesterday; he adores his guitars & music, so that had to be the theme of his card. My original plan to use a new guitar die was foiled when I broke one of my Cuttlebug plates in my Fiskars Fuse! So this was plan B: a stamped, embossed guitar and background made of embossed mini musical stamps. The embellishment was stamped & embossed also.

I’m entering this into the challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Starry 18th

Front of card

A friend’s son turns 18 on Friday, but as always with a card for a young man it’s a challenge to come up with an appropriate card. For me, starting with a sketch seems to work best so I turned to Sketch Saturday, where this week’s challenge is to choose a sketch from their archive. I chose sketch number 283, and stuck to it very closely. I used a stitched star die by Little B, number dies by Robert Addams, then cut the chevron card from my stash. A couple of eyelets finished it off.
