Three in One

Front of card

I’m combining 3 challenges in one with this card; I liked the simplicity of the design over at Muse this week – their 200th challenge! I used the dotty paper from my stash & stamped/masked the main image. This is where the second challenge comes in: Darnell over at NBUS challenges everyone to use their “Never Before Used Schtuff”: the flowers are from a layering set by Prima called Bayou Flowers, which I’ve had for a while but never used. There’s also an optional theme of CASEing another card, which of course is exactly what the Muse challenge is! The third challenge is at Addicted to Stamps and More where the theme is “Anything Goes”.

I stamped the flower in Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid, layered with Memento London Fog & Tuxedo Black. You can see the sheen of the ink in the close up below. The leaves were stamped in Memento Pistachio. Rather than CASEing the Muse card exactly, I decided to use a Lawn Cuts Cross-Stitched Square die to cut out the main image and decided to keep the greeting simple. It’s by Clearly Besotted, from the Many Mini Messages set, stamped in Versamark onto a scrap of black card then embossed in Wow! white embossing powder.

NBUS #8

Front of card

The theme for this fortnight over at Darnell’s NBUS Challenge (NBUS=Never-Before-Used =-Schtuff!!) is coloured pencils on kraft. I bought some cheap coloured pencils from W H Smith a long, long time ago when they were in the sale, and they’ve languished unloved in a drawer ever since.

I’ve spent pretty much all my crafting time since Christmas re-cataloguing my clear stamp collection so I decided to have a go at the challenge as a break from the monotony. I’m not entirely happy with the result – maybe that’s what you get when you use cheap pencils! – but from a distance it’s not too bad;-) I didn’t use any blending fluid, I wasn’t sure how well it would work on kraft, and in any case I couldn’t find it!  Here’s the close-up so you can see what I mean:
