Front of card

My brother, the oldest of my siblings, turns 60 on Wednesday, and although I’m a few years behind him in age I’m finding it hard to get my head around any of us being so “old”! Anyway, my Mum asked me to make a card from her, to him, and the above is what I came up with.

The card is loosely based on this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches; my first attempt was much closer to the sketch but although other people’s cards look great with the greeting printed sideways, mine just didn’t look right so I had to do it again. ┬áThe stamps are from the Clearly Besotted Basic Numbers set, stamped in Memento New Sprout. The die cut letters are by Diamond Press.

The main image was painted by my late father so that, although he can’t be here to sign the card in person, this is the next best thing. I wanted the image to be the star so I kept the paper very low key. ┬áHere’s a slightly closer image:
