Another coloured pencil creation today, although to me this illustrates the difference between cheap coloured pencils & the more expensive Polychromos as the finish on the red golf bag is not as good as I’d like. It also shows the difference between colouring in artificial light and daylight, as it really doesn’t stand up to close up photography. Thankfully it does look better in real life! The layout is based on this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.
The golfing stamp is from an old set by Crafts UK, the golf ball was made using a Cuttlebug embossing folder (it’s the reverse side), the spotty flag was stamped with a dotty background stamp & cut using an MFT die. The greeting is a Clearly Besotted stamp, embossed and then cut out with another MFT die.
I loved the card which is the inspiration for this week’s Muse challenge. Although it’s a very CAS card it has lots of little details in the die-cutting and I knew I could recreate this with some dies which I purchased recently off that well-known auction site.
The dies are by MFT and I cut the background from Docrafts adhesive-backed silver paper. The oval dies are by Spellbinders and the gem is from my stash. The greeting is by Papertrey Ink.
I’ve made a few cards recently with the intention of entering a challenge – trouble is, by the time I finally get round to posting the card on my blog, I’m too late to enter the challenge! Not this time though – the current challenge over at Polkadoodles is “Things with Wings” and I made a couple of cards recently which fit the challenge perfectly. Both cards use MFT stamps & dies, some vellum I’ve had in my stash for years along with some equally ancient sequins. The butterflies were stamped in Hero Arts Unicorn ink, then painted with Wink of Stella once the ink had dried.
One of my favourite challenges is Stamping Sensations, and their current challenge is “Anything Goes” so these cards definitely qualify!
This card started out as an experiment with Distress Inks, Perfect Pearl sprays & water droplets on Sheena’s Stamping Card. I based it on a “recipe” I found on the internet – this colour combination was recipe 2. I then stamped some of the MFT Inspired by Butterflies stamps in Versamark and embossed the images in white embossing powder.
Basing the layout on the current sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches, I found a piece of backing paper in my stash which matched really well, then stamped the greeting by Docrafts in Memento Rose Bud ink. A ribbon and a few sequins from my stash finished it off.
