Sketch Saturday #387

Card for Sketch Saturday

Card making is having to take a back seat at the moment, a new role at work and a husband at home who’s still recovering from serious illness means I have much less free time. Still, it makes me more productive when I do get the time! This week’s sketch at Sketch Saturday caught my eye so I used it to make a card for an old friend of the family. The central image was painted by my much-missed Dad, who would have celebrated his 84th birthday yesterday, and I only have a few of his mini pictures left so I save them for people who I know would appreciate them. Here’s a close-up:

The base card is a pale green textured cardstock by Mrs Grossman which has been in my stash for years! The patterned paper is a snippet from, I think, Papermania, which started out life as black, grey & white but I swiped Memento inks in Dandelion and Canteloupe over the top to match the painting. The greeting (from Clearly Besotted Many Mini Messages) was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The ribbon has also been in my stash for years and it originally came with some wrapping paper. Waste not, want not!
