Less is More Challenge – Sand

I’ve been card making for several years now but this is the first time I’ve entered a challenge. I usually don’t have the time to “play”, my crafting normally has to have a purpose so this is a bit of a departure for me.

The theme for this week’s challenge at Less Is More is “Sand” so I decided to dig out my Inkylicious beach stamps and my Ink Dusters and just experiment.  This was the end result.
It never ceases to amaze me how someone who hated art at school (because I was so bad at it) can create something resembling art.  It may not be particularly original but I’m happy with it and my late father, a talented watercolour artist, would have been very proud!
The birds, I hope, qualify this card for the “Take Flight” challenge over at Addicted to CAS.  Maybe I’ve caught the challenge bug . . . . .
Cardstock: Xerox Colotech Plus 300gsm
Stamps: Inkylicious
Inks: Memento Toffee Crunch & London Fog, Big & Juicy Hydrangea

  1. that's lovely. I too was never very good at art at school (well it was fine art), but with stamps and coloured ink I can have fun and make something pleasing. If only art at school was as much fun as I can have in my craft room.

  2. Beautiful card Helen…love these Inkylious stamps and I'd forgot I'd got this set…thanks for the reminder.
And snap…I hated art at school…and that's because I was no good at it…in fact I always came bottom of the class.

  9. A gorgeous card, Helen! That is a lovely set of stamps, and I love what you have done with it. I too didn't like art at school, and gave it up when I chose my options at 13. It is only recently I have decided that I don't need to be able to draw to produce art. Good luck in your challenges x
